Slaton Stock Show prepares students for big upcoming shows

From Staff Reports

Bleating, squeals and moos – along with cheers, filled the interior of the Show Barn on 20th St. Saturday (Jan. 2) as the annual Slaton Stock Show was conducted.

About 30 participants showed at the event, and Ian Schaefer judged the animals.

FFA adviser Adam Westbrook said the event went well, especially in a time when COVID has shattered showers’ dreams of big scholarships in the past year. “The show went great and a good crowd turned out. The auction ended up being real good – and the auction turned out to be great,” he said.
