It was so nice, it would fall twice… just a bit more than the last time.

Slaton, as well as most of the Texas Panhandle and South Plains, received several inches of snow overnight Saturday and Sunday (Jan. 9-10).

Slaton received approximately five and a half inches over the two days, adding to the four and a half received New Year’s weekend.

Some locations received upwards of nine inches according to the National Weather Service.

On average, the area receives about eight inches of snow in an average season snowfall.
