The Slaton Economic Development Corporation discussed changing how they donate to events Thursday afternoon (Jan. 21) during its regular monthly meeting.
Barbara Hopper, Executive Director, said SEDCO had been asked to help sponsor the South Plains Air Show again this year.
That said, COVID-19 could still be a factor, so she was concerned about them just sending a check. “It would be in the form of a pledge because of the fact it may not happen,” she said, saying she asked the Chamber of Commerce if that was OK.
They said it would be allowed, and should the event be canceled, the money wouldn’t be handed out.
