Slaton United receives updated look with recent remodeling

United Supermarket in Slaton has a new look.

The exterior may seem similar – only a new, if subtly changed sign was installed, but inside, the decor isn’t plain white walls anymore.

Josh Mullins, Store Director for the Slaton store, said it was “long overdue” for an update.

“We have been in this particular building since 1980, and the decor that was on the walls was from the early 2000s,” he said. “United has undergone many changes the last several years, and it was time for our rural stores to match the city stores.”

Some of the changes are subtle indoors as well, others more obvious to the eye.

“New decor on the walls and sales floor were just some of several changes. We have also received all-new lighting, new retail cases for our deli and new signs for the outside of the building and the fuel/highway marquee,” said Mullins. “We will also be getting a brand new service counter and shopping carts.”
