Slaton FFA earns honors in shows

Students part of the Slaton FFA have been very busy the past few weeks showing off their best animals in big competitions.

Many have also recently won high honors, and have had their animals make it to sales such as the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, which is only conducting the show this season.

The following results from the major stock shows this year for Slaton FFA:

In the Sandhill’s stock show,  Clara Davis was Reserve Division Champion Senior Hereford Division, second place Hereford heifer calf division and sixth place Polled Hereford heifer calf division; Grant Schilling, fifth place Polled Hereford; and Ella Newton, fourth place Polled Hereford.

At the Patriot steer show,  Newton earned fourth place Polled Hereford; and Schilling, eighth place Hereford.

During the alternative show, Tatum Westbrook had a  fourth place spot

In the San Angelo Stock show, Schilling had a second place dark cross

In the San Antonio Stock Show, Kenon Diaz had a sixth place cross, and Schilling a 10th place York as well as an eighth place Maine steer.

In the Houston Livestock Stock Show, Rachyl Kitten had an eighth place Hampshire, Schilling a fifth place red cross steer, Newton a ninth place polled Hereford steer and Tatum Westbrook and eighth place cross

In the Rodeo Austin Stock show, Kitten had a seventh place dark opb, and Westbrook a fourth place dark cross.
