Area elections for seats, propositions decided Saturday

The City of Ransom Canyon and Lubbock-Cooper ISD had several elections decided Saturday (May 1) in the General Election.
In the Town of Ransom Canyon, Jana Trew ran unopposed for Mayor.
She received 184 votes to be mayor.
In the Alderman-at-Large positions, two people could be elected.
In unofficial results, Val Meixner received 44.51 percent of the votes with 146, Brandt Underwood 39.02 percent of the votes with 128 votes and Mark Sundy 54 votes for 16.46 percent.
The Lubbock-Cooper Independent did not have anyone running for school board, however, they had to vote for or against three propositions for a second high school.
