Ready, set… prepare!
That’s been the mantra for youth the past few weeks practicing their running, tug of war and other event skills during Summer Track Practice at Slaton High School.
Their goal, to be ready for their first of two summer meets, that will be conducted Saturday (July 17) at the Slaton High School track
Coach Cory Lusk said so far about 10 to 12 children have come to practice every week.
He has taught them a variety of skills that will be needed when they compete against the other teams.
“We have other towns – Brownfield, Lorenzo, Seagraves that will be coming to participate as well,” he said.
Events that will be featured include running events such as the 100, 200 and 50 meter runs, tug of war, flipping and softball throw.
