Meet the Tigers event set for Aug. 7

A long standing tradition in Slaton, deferred in 2020 due to COVID has returned as Meet the Tigers will be conducted Aug. 7.

Head Coach and Athletic Director Lawrence Johnson said they will have an intersquad scrimmage in the morning starting at 8:30 a.m.

The coaches will all be introduced and athletes will be introduced for each sport.

There will also be a concession stand and spirit trailer for parents to purchase spirit gear.

The athletes will also be fed at the event.

There are no mask mandate and everything is at 100 percent seating capacity.

First game for the Tiger football team this season will be Aug. 27 against Snyder.

It will also be senior night.

The first game of the District season will be Oct. 8 at Kermit.

Cross Country’s first meet is Aug. 28 at the Rust Buster Relays on the Lubbock Christian University Course in Lubbock.

The winter and spring sports season starts will be announced as they become available during the year.
