The Slaton Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors held its regular meeting Thursday (July 15) at its office. Multiple topics were discussed at the meeting.
After the meeting was called to order, a presentation was given by Austin Farmer, a representative for The Retail Coach, an economic development recruitment firm.
The Retail Coach is a national retail consulting, market research and development firm that uses strategy, technology and creativity to deliver high-impact retail recruitment, Farmer said. The firm does retail recruitment to fill retail gaps in communities using cell phone data.
Next, the Board began discussing the presentation by The Retail Coach representative Farmer.
The Board had concerns over the proximity of Slaton to Lubbock and how that could effect retail from moving in.
