Allsup’s Market in Slaton conducted its grand opening celebration all last week (July  19-24), including a ribbon cutting Friday morning (July 23).

The store is located at 1402 N. Hwy. 84.

Taliah Campbell, store manager, said so far the reception to the new store has been positive. “Business is good. The whole community has been pretty excited about it for quite a long time,” she said, adding they sold out of the famous fried burrito on day two of opening.

It was a date months in the making, as the store opened three weeks ago. “We were very pleased to finally open. It was kind of a long process, a lot of hard work but I feel like the sales are great, the business is great, and the community is super excited,” added Campbell.

People had the opportunity to enjoy deals of all sorts of Allsup’s products, eat free hot dog and sodas Friday and Saturday, participate in a variety of contests and albeit for a short time due to high winds, see the Pepsi Hot Air balloon on Saturday.
