The Slaton High School football team showed off what they had practiced so far Saturday morning (Aug. 7) during an intersquad scrimmage before Meet the Tigers.
Players practiced drills and plays for awhile before the introductions, and guests could watch the game, but also purchase newly designed T-shirts and concessions that were available during the event.
Head Football Coach and Athletic Director Lawrence Johnson welcomed everyone to the event and celebrated the kick off to the season, more so given last year’s event was canceled due to COVID.
“Last year was the most difficult year for our student athletes but they found a way to respond to the adversity that COVID-19 placed on our community,” he said.
