Trustees set public hearing for tax rate

The Slaton Independent School District Board of Trustees set a date for public hearing of the proposed tax rates for the 2021-22 year Tuesday evening (Aug. 10) during its regular monthly meeting.

The hearing will be conducted at 12:15 p.m. Aug. 31 at the SISD Administration Building in the board room, 140 E. Panhandle St.

The proposed tax rate is set for $1.3623 per $100 valuation. The rate is split at 0.9797 cents for maintenance and operations and 0.3826 for interest and sinking.
