Alexander named fall intern at The Slatonite

Nolan Alexander, a Texas Tech senior, has been named fall intern at The Slatonite.

“I am a senior journalism major at Texas Tech University and love everything sports. Like Slaton, I grew up in a small farm town called Brock located about 25 minutes west of Fort Worth,” he said. “They are mainly known for their winning mentality in sports with State championships in basketball, baseball and most recently football. I personally found passion in football, cross country and basketball.

“My love for sports personally started when I played basketball for a church program and have loved the essence of sports ever since. My parents always told me that I was glued to ESPN segments and all the sports documentaries. In turn they told me to strive to be a sports reporter or commentator, but I have always loved the print side of news,” Alexander added.

He plans on graduating in the spring of 2022.
