The City of Slaton Commissioners approved setting a tax rate for the 2021-22 fiscal year Monday evening (Aug. 30) during a special meeting of the City Council.

The proposed rate is $0.589650 per $100 valuation. Interim City Administrator Mike Lamberson said the voter approval tax rate would be $0.595002 per $100 rate. “We have to do a proposed rate that y’all agree on so we can get it posted in the newspaper and everything else before y’all will approve it in your September meeting,” he said.

Each Commissioner had to vote individually, and all approved the rate.
