The Slaton Independent School District Board of Trustees conducted a public hearing on the proposed tax rate for 2021-22 during a special meeting Tuesday afternoon (Aug. 31) at the Slaton ISD board room.
President Carlos Bentancourt opened the hearing at 12:16 p.m. The purpose of the hearing was to allow taxpayers to come and discuss the tax rate.
When no one came to speak, the hearing was closed at 12:17 p.m.
The tax rate is the same as last year. It is set at a total of $1.3623 per $100 valuation. Of that amount, $0.9797 is set for maintenance and operations and $0.3826 for interest and sinking.
