Brush wins Silver Rose florist award

A local businesswoman received a special honor from her fellow colleagues in the area.

Jan Brush of Pauline’s Flowers received the Silver Rose, an award given by the West Texas  New Mexico Florist Association.

The Silver Rose is presented to a person for outstanding, continuous meritorious service within the association.

Brush has been owner of the store since 2006, after the death of her mother. Pauline’s Flowers has served the community for more than 54 years, creating floral arrangements for every occasion.

But that’s not all that Brush and her staff have done over the years.

She is also a member of the South Plains Professional Floral Association, a long time member of WTNM, past president of WTNM (2011) and is currently serving her second term on the Board of Directors. Brush also is a supporter of the design schools and organizations.

She is married to Gary, and has two daughters, Tammy and Brandi, and five grandchildren, Cody, Bristan, Dylan, Brecklyn and Brolin.
