SHS homecoming events scheduled

Slaton High School and the Slaton Independent School District are celebrating homecoming with activities all throughout the week.

The theme this year is “This is the Greatest Show.”

The students are dressing up in their best spirit themed gear throughout the week.

The annual homecoming parade and carnival was conducted Wednesday (Sept. 15).

Nominees for homecoming king are Trent Wright, Evan Lopez, Jacorien Doss, Eli Perez and Diego Maldonado.

The crowning of the king was conducted after press time, and will be announced in next week’s (Sept. 23) edition.

The homecoming queen will be crowned Friday evening (Sept. 17) during halftime.

Nominees are Xochitl Morales, Liezza Betancourt, Christiana Anzley, Amaya Ramos and Sabri Lopez.

The Tigers will compete against Odessa Compass Academy.

Game time is 7 p.m.
