Three men in the agricultural and railroad industries were honored for their years of hard work Monday morning (Sept. 27) during the Slaton Ag and Commerce Luncheon at First Baptist Church’s Activity Hall.
Honored this year were Stuart Swanner as Farmer of the Year, Arturo Lopez as Farm Hand of the Year, and Larry Lee as Railroader of the Year.
Chamber President Jim Andrus welcomed guests to the event, which was not conducted last year due to COVID.
He acknowledged the businesses around the City, including new ones that have come in, and construction to improve the town. “It’s just a number of things why Slaton is better,” he said.
