7 receive money from Slaton Area Endowment

Seven local groups in Slaton were recipients of grants totally $8,850 from the Slaton Area Endowment Foundation for items they needed financial help on.

They were announced during halftime of the Slaton-Brownfield game Friday evening (Oct. 22) at Tiger Stadium (See story on game, page 4).

The honorees were City of Slaton Emergency Services – Santa Red & Blue,  Llano Estacado Silver Star Board-Slaton Area Seniors, Slaton Independent School District High School Culinary Arts Program – Operation Culinary Arts Fryer, Slaton Ministerial Alliance – Help Slaton, Slaton Railroad Heritage Association – Streetside Signage, Slaton Senior Citizens Center – bookcases and Weekend Snack Sack Program – feeding kids.
