SHS to host Veterans Day ceremony Nov. 11

Slaton High School will host its annual Veterans Day Ceremony at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 11 in the high school gym.

The event will feature the Slaton High School Band and the combined choirs of Cathelene Thomas Elementary, Slaton Junior High and Slaton High School.

A reception for all veterans and their families will be held immediately following the event in the SHS library hosted by the Slaton High School Culinary Department.

This year’s speaker will be COL David Bradshaw, Army.  Over his 36 years with the US Army, he was deployed to Panama, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Bosnia.  He also served on short tours in Europe, Central America and South America.
