Santa Red, Blue drive under way

The annual Santa Red and Blue drive is under way throughout town, working to ensure those in need have a bright Christmas.

Barrels have been distributed throughout town for people to donate non-perishable foods (canned and boxed) as well as new unwrapped toys, which will be distributed to those in need.

Barrels are located at Peoples Bank, Happy State Bank, Dollar General, Caprock Santa Fe Credit Union, City Hall, Town Square Antique Mall, all four schools (Stephen F. Austin Primary, Cathelene Thomas Elementary, Junior High and High School), Library of Legacies, humble Grounds and Slaton Animal Hospital.

Santa Red & Blue applications were sent to all students Pre-K through fifth. They are also available at all school offices, the Slaton Police Department, Slaton Fire Department and City Hall.

Applications must be turned in by Dec. 10 at 5 p.m. to the Slaton Police Department.

Applications will not be accepted at the schools or any location due to some personal documentation (Photo ID, financial documentation, verification of residency) that is required to apply.
