Small Town Christmas has strong return after ’20 COVID cancellation

Children of all ages got to have fun visiting Santa, roast marshmallows, see a nativity, “snow,” enjoy refreshments and shop locally during Slaton’s Small Town Christmas Saturday evening (Dec. 4) on the Town Square.
The event returned after COVID cancelled the 2020 event.
The annual Tree Decorating Contest winners were announced.
They were Most Festive – Cathelene Thomas Elementary cafeteria staff; Most Fun – Slaton Animal Hospital, Most Creative – Pixie Rose Boutique; Best Christmas Theme – Caprock Santa Fe Credit Union, Best Original Theme – Many and Jeff Lockaby’s Jingle “Boll” Tree and Best Lighting – Slaton Police Department.
