Santa Red & Blue to deliver to those in need, homebound Saturday

Santa Red & Blue will be doing its annual distribution of food, toys and other items to families in need and the homebound Saturday (Dec. 18) and need volunteers.
A total of 77 homebound and 60 families will be receiving items, for a total of 137 deliveries.
Chief of Police Trevor Barnes said those wanting to volunteer need to come to the Slaton Police Department, 175 N. 8th St., no later than 9:45 a.m.
A photo of the group will be taken at that time.
Those who have a shirt from last year are encouraged to wear them for the deliveries. He is also encouraging those who have trailers to bring them as well.
Anyone wanting to be a team leader must attend a meeting at the Police Department at 6:30 p.m. Friday (Dec. 17).
Drivers are asked to heed caution Saturday around town as the volunteers deliver items to families.
