Slaton Stock Show sees big turnout

The Show Barn in Slaton was packed to watch approximately 40 students show off more than 100 different projects at the Slaton Stock Show Saturday afternoon (Jan. 1).
In addition to the show, students auctioned off items they have made in mechanics. There was also a silent auction featuring items given by donors and a concession stand.
Judge for the event was Jarrot Foote.
Exhibitors received ribbons while top honors earned banners and belt buckles.
Winners in this year’s show were: Jacob Diaz – Old Timers Showmanship Swine; Danielle Talkmitt – Old Timers Showmanship for Goats/Lambs; Alexa Gaydos – Lamb Showmanship; Kaylee Creager – Senior Swine Showmanship; Ella Newton – Grand Champion Heifer, Reserve Grand Steer and Cattle Showmanship; Clara Davis – Reserve Heifer; Kim Henderson – Grand Champion Lamb; Brynlee Machuca – Goat Showmanship and Reserve Grand Goat; Grant Schilling – Grand Champion Swine and Grand Champion Steer; Zac Gaydos – Reserve Champion Lamb; Reggie Newcomb – Grand Champion Goat; Tatum Westbrook – Junior Swine Showmanship and Cason Brown – Reserve Grand Swine.
