The Slaton Economic Development Corporation discussed several ways to help boost the business in the City Thursday afternoon (Feb. 17) during its regular monthly meeting.

New SEDCO Board member Chad Wilson presented a list of ideas for the group to pursue. Among these were City-wide garage sales, a questionnaire to local businesses to see how SEDCO could help, cold calls to local businesses and possible out of town businesses that may want to move to Slaton, TV advertising that is pro-Slaton, a possible mini-strip mall center for smaller businesses and even a dog groomer.

A lively discussion was done for each item, each having several ideas brainstormed. Executive Director Barbara Hopper said several may take a few months to put into action while others not used.
