Diaz wins bronze, RHS Powerlifting finish strong at State competition

Senior JJ Diaz struck metal at the 2022 Texas High School Powerlifting Association State Powerlifting Contest Saturday (March 26) in Abilene.

Diaz finished third in Weight Class 220 with a total of 1,620 pounds.

All four State finalists finished strong in the meet, all placing and none bombing out.

Alex Trevino finished eighth in Weight Class 181 with a total of 1,445 pounds, Erick Cruz placed 10th in the 132 Weight Class with a total of 1,020 pounds and Nate Gensler finished 12th in Weight Class 198 with a total of 1,500 pounds.

A total of 183 lifters competed in Division III.
