Slaton, area to host Easter events this week

Several groups in Slaton and the surrounding area will be hosting Easter activities, including egg hunts and worship.
The Slaton Care Center will host an Easter Egg Hunt Friday (April 15) at 1:30 p.m. at the Slaton Care Center, 630 S. 19th St.
There will be a golden egg prize and participants are asked to bring their own basket.
Wilson is also hosting an egg hunt after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID pandemic.
The annual Community Easter Egg Hunt and Hot Dog Lunch will be conducted Saturday (April 16) at noon. Children who are walking up through age 12 are welcome to participate.
Everyone is invited to bring lawn chairs and eat a hot dog lunch following the egg hunt.
The event is hosted by St. John Lutheran Church, who is bringing the event back.
Several churches will also host events as well, including services from Good Friday to Easter Sunday.
Other churches such as LakeRidge UMC in Lubbock will have their chapel open on Good Friday from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. to pray. Check their websites for times.
