Slaton High School students, parents and faculty watched 52 seniors sign a letter to attend a college, military or other post-high school graduate education Monday afternoon (May 9) during a signing ceremony in the high school gym.

This is the first year ever for the school to conduct the ceremony.

Principal Mario Aguirre welcomed everyone and thanked them for attending.

He was honored to be able to celebrate the students’ accomplishments.

“I feel really, really honored and sharing with you the achievements of our beloved students today,” he said. “This is an occasion and a joy for all of us at SHS as we have come together to celebrate this auspicious occasion.

“It goes without saying that this event will be amongst our most treasured occasions at SHS for years to come.”

For more information including a list of the signees, please read the Thursday edition of The Slatonite.
