Slaton Clean-Up to be May 28-June 10

The City of Slaton will be conducting a city wide clean up May 28-June 10.

This year, a new addition has been added to help those who need to clean their homes.

In conjunction with the City-Wide Clean Up of Slaton, Slaton Economic Development Corporation will host a Document Shredding Day on the Downtown Square of Slaton June 3 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

SEDCO will allow citizens to bring up to three boxes of personal documents to be shredded and then destroyed by UCI Document Solutions.

For this service, SEDCO suggests donations to Meals on Wheels, the Harvey House, Santa Red and Blue or the Weekend Snack Sack Program.  Donations would be greatly appreciated but not required.

SEDCO and the City of Slaton are also encouraging all residents of Slaton to host a garage and/or yard sale on June 4.

All garage sale permits required by the City of Slaton will be waived to participate in this event.

Those who want to participate in the city-wide Garage/Yard Sale that day, can notify Lezlee Harlan or Barbara Hopper at SEDCO at 806-828-5110 with the address of their sale by May 20, so it can be included in the advertisement of all locations.
