SEDCO discusses new business for city, area

The Slaton Economic Development Corporation discussed Wheelhouse Development’s interest in Slaton among other issues Thursday afternoon (May 19) during its regular Board meeting.

Executive Director Barbara Hopper said the group purchased Twin Pines RV park, and planned on keeping it themselves and running it. They also contacted about property held by Cartwright and Stricklin. The person contacted Hopper and said they had brokers looking at the property to get financing options and valuation.

SEDCO is waiting to see if they can get the land to create a strip mall, where the owner would furnish the land, Wheelhouse puts up a building and they’d run the property. She said the person who met with Wheelhouse said the group was interested in Slaton.
