The Roosevelt High School Arena was full of yells and cheers as the Class of 2022 made their way through a cheer line of their teachers Friday evening (May 27) at the school.

The 2022 Valedictorian was Alex Trevino and the Salutatorian was Viviana Duran.

Trevino thanked family, friends and guests for attending – not just for graduation. “Whether it be through showing up for sporting events, liking the Facebook posts or simply buying a Bahama Bucks…the community is just as responsible for the success of our class and the future classes of Roosevelt High School,” he said.

He said however afterward that it is about them-the Class of 2022.

“As conceited as that may sound that is true, because we have worked so hard to get to this point,” he added. “I am proud of each and every one of you for reaching this accomplishment. I consider every single one of you a friend of mine, so I hope I can give you some meaningful advice in the next few minutes.”

One of these is winning in life. “Winning isn’t easy so celebrate the victories,” he said, adding that many may believe it is only something that is said by coaches throughout the country. “I believe that these seven words impose so much more advice and application to life itself.
