Slaton local to exhibit pottery at Buddy Holly Center

Wayne Greene of Slaton, will exhibit his “Forms In Clay” at the Buddy Holly Center, 1801 19th St. and Crickets Ave. in Lubbock during June and July. The exhibit opened June 3 as part of First Friday and will continue until July 24. His glazed pottery pieces include hand thrown vessels (pots, bowls and mugs), both singular pieces, as well as sets of multiple pieces.

Longtime Slaton resident, Greene earned his Bachelor of Art degree at Central Michigan University and his Master of Fine Arts degree in sculpture at the University of Oregon. He has taught art to students ranging from fourth grade through the university level in Michigan, Oregon and Texas. He currently maintains his clay studio at his home in Slaton.

The Buddy Holly Center is open every day of the week except Friday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information call 806-775-3560.
