City of Slaton Library annual reading program under way

The Annual Summer reading program is under way at the City of Slaton Library, 200 W. Lynn St.

Librarian Cynthia Olivares said children can pick up a Summer Reading Tracker from the library.

“Once they complete the tracker, they can bring it back to the library for a small prize from our prize box and their name will be entered into a drawing for one of our grand prizes,” she said.

It is also not just for children. “Adults and teens may also pick up a Summer Reading Tracker and they also can earn a small prize and be entered in for a grand prize,” Olivares added.

The program will run through July 31 and prizes must be redeemed by Aug. 12. Grand prize winners will be announced the week of Aug. 15.
