SPD asking for help in game room theft investigation
From Staff Reports
The Slaton Police Department is looking for help in a game room theft which occurred July 17 at 10:05 p.m.
Chief of Police Trevor Barnes said a tall male with a long firearm entered a game room in the 1600 block of S. 9th St.
He then pointed the weapon at the manager on duty and ordered the safe cleaned out.
The subject got the contents and left with the money bag only, which Barnes said contained about $300 inside.
When the subject left, one of the employees went to chase him, and had the weapon pointed at them again. This time, when the subject pointed the weapon at the employee, it was fired.
Most of the shotgun’s pellets landed less than a foot from the person’s head and the remainder hit the metal roof of the game room.
The suspect then left traveling in no specific direction.
Barnes said they are currently coordinating with other agencies to possibly connect this with another robbery that occurred in Lubbock.
Anyone who may have information on the subject is asked to call Barnes at the Slaton Police Department, 806-828-2020.
