Wreck causes heavy damage

A Friday evening wreck lead to one injured and major damage to the road.

Chief of Police Trevor Barnes said the truck was driving along Hwy. 84 N. near the overpass around 6 p.m. when it had a blowout, went into a skid and slid off the road. The steel beams it was carrying spilled onto the road. The driver was injured.

The Texas Department of Transportation closed the road for three hours to clean up the debris and damage. Traffic cones were placed where the guardrails were damaged.

SPD and the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Department directed traffic. No other vehicles were involved.
