The Slaton Economic Development Corporation approved an engagement agreement with Bickerstaff, Heath, Delgado, Acosta LLP to become its legal counsel Thursday afternoon (July 21) during its regular monthly meeting.
Executive Director Barbara Hopper said the bylaws changing the rule where SEDCO had to use City’s legal counsel were approved and now they could pass the agreement. The firm is located in Austin, but is focused on EDCs. Hopper added the firm can also Zoom with SEDCO on an issue if needed.
Members also discussed the upcoming budget. Hopper said there were two options they were looking at, each with minor changes. Some items stayed the same while others have been adjusted.
