SAE presents checks, starts scholarship

The Slaton Area Endowment Fund awarded grants to three local non-profit organizations Friday evening (Sept. 16) during the halftime game between Slaton and Roosevelt.

Those receiving grants were First United Methodist Church-Slaton for Cub Scouts Pack 127; Llano Estacado Silver Star Board; and the Slaton Senior Citizens Center.

The total amount given to local organizations through the Slaton Area Endowment was $5,500.

Since the endowment’s inception in 2013, the Slaton Area Endowment has granted $123,713.64 to the nonprofit organizations who serve the Slaton area.
