SEDCO receives update on murals

The Slaton Economic Development Corporation heard an update from the mural committee Thursday afternoon (Oct. 20) during its monthly meeting.

Judy Thomas, who is leading the committee, said they have met twice with a third time scheduled.

They have a few items agreed upon, such as the mural painter, but are still trying to get a design finalized. Also being worked on are costs, the time to paint the mural and other completion items.

They want to present the artist with two suggestions and let him offer a third, with the goal to keep it original, neutral and interactive.

The group has another meeting on Nov. 1 to work on more ideas, and are taking suggestions from the public on what the new mural should include.
