Trunk or Treat, other events to offer safe, fun Halloween for all

Slaton will be offering a few Halloween festivities to help parents and children have a safe Halloween.

The annual Chamber of Commerce Trunk or Treat will be Monday (Oct. 31) from 5-6 p.m. at the Slaton Square.

There will be a trunk decorating contest sponsored by the Slaton Speedway.

The Chamber will also offer a hot dog dinner for sale. A hotdog, chips and water will be $5. For more information e-mail the Chamber at or call 806-828-6238.

Slaton Animal Hospital is having its second Annual Howl-O-Ween Pet Costume Contest at Trunk or Treat.

Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes worn by pets.

First Baptist Church will pass out S’mores in front of the church from 5-6 p.m. Oct. 31.

Those who may do Trick-or-Treating at houses should have flashlights and look both ways before crossing the street. Drivers should be cautious of Trick-or-Treaters.
