The Slaton Economic Development Corporation approved a recommendation letter for three Board seats that will expire in December Thursday afternoon (Nov. 17) during its monthly meeting.
Executive Director Barbara Hopper said the three nominees: Nancy Norman, Joe Janick and Clif Shaw, agreed to continue serving in their seats.
One member addressed concerns about still serving due to a job move, but the Board said they were happy to still have their input.
The recommendation must be approved by the City Council in its December meeting.
Board member Judy Thomas gave an update on the mural progress. She said the committee has met several times and contacted an artist, waiting to hear from him. They have also had several people input ideas for the murals.
Thomas added the committee wanted to see if SEDCO would allow either side of the building to be painted, as it may affect visibility. The Board approved the request and set a budget of up to $5,000 for the design.
