Closures announced for Christmas

There will be several activities and closures this week for Christmas.

Slaton City Hall, 130 S. 9th St. in Slaton, will have a come and go holiday open house Dec. 22 at City Hall. The event is from 8:30 a.m.-noon and is come and go. Refreshments will be provided.

City Hall will close Thursday at noon for the Christmas holiday, and open Monday (Dec. 26) at its normal time.

Slaton ISD has been out since Dec. 16 and will return to session Jan. 4.

Several churches in the area will be conducting Christmas Eve and Day services.

Check with local churches to see what events have been planned.

Local businesses will be closed or have adjusted hours for Christmas Eve Saturday (Dec. 24) and Sunday.

The Slatonite will be closed Friday (Dec. 23) for Christmas weekend. It will open up normal hours the following Monday.

Papers will be distributed at their normal time, both paper and online subscriptions.
