From Staff Reports

The Ag barn on 20th St. was full of family and friends – and animals, as Slaton ag exhibitors showed off their steers, heifers, goats, lambs and swine during the annual Slaton Stock Show Saturday (Dec. 31).

Grand and Reserve Champion winners received banners and belt buckles, while all participants received ribbons and other awards for their accomplishments.

Earning honors in this year’s show were:

Ella Newton – Grand Champion Heifer, Reserve Grand Steer and Cattle Showmanship.

Grant Schilling – Grand Champion Steer and Grand Champion Swine.

Brynlee Machuca – Grand Champion Goat, Reserve Grand Goat.

Alexa Gaydos – Grand Champion Lamb.

The Stock Show raises funds throughout the year through events such as the Stock Show Dance and dinner, and through donations to help with the event. Moneys raised goes to help Slaton exhibitors.
