Local stores earn top honors in KCBD 2023 Best of the West

Three locally owned businesses in town, The Slaton Bakery, Pitforks and Smokerings BBQ and Library of Legacies, won KCBD’s 2023 Best of the West honors.

The winners were announced Jan. 11.

Slaton Bakery was named Best Bakery.

Library of Legacies was named Best Senior/Assisted Living.

Pitforks and Smokerings BBQ won for Best Ribs.

United Supermarkets and South Plains Implement, which have stores in Slaton, also won honors in the annual event.

United Supermarkets received Best Grocery Center while South Plains Implement earned Best Ag Equipment Supplier.

Members of the public are allowed to vote for their favorite businesses to receive the honors.
