Area students earn honors at Fort Worth Stock Show

Slaton FFA and Ag exhibitors along with other area students earned several honors at the Fort Worth Stock show this past week.
For Slaton, junior market barrow exhibitors earning honors were Benton Lunsford fourth place Cross and Texas Bred Class Winner; Kim Henderson, ninth place Chester; Sophia Hall Simmons, ninth place Berkshire, and Tucker Westbrook 11th place Chester.
Also showing barrows were Andres Gutierrez, Kate Hargrave, Harper Hargrave, Jasiah Rodriguez, Tabor Vergara, Justin Rodgers and Rayleigh Rodgers.
In junior market steers, Ella Newton placed second with her Polled Hereford; Grant Schilling sixth place with his Hereford and Dean Newton sixth placed with his polled Hereford.
Roosevelt had its share of winners too.
Paige Davis won first place with her European Cross in the steer show.
For barrows, Kynli Grizzell won second place Duroc; Kason Grizell, fourth place Duroc, and Reagan Wenzel fourth place Duroc.
