SISD seeking input on 4-day class week

The Slaton Independent School District is seeking input for a possible four day instructional week for the 2023-24 school year.

Superintendent Jim Andrus said in a Scoop Studio the Board of Trustees agreed to research and gather information on the possibility of the program.

A full presentation can be found on the Slaton ISD Facebook page, on the YouTube Slaton Tigers page or online at slatonisd.net.  A QR code link for the survey is in this week’s edition of The Slatonite on page 3.

Results of the survey will be presented to the School Board during the March 9 meeting. If the surveys show approval of a four day week option the District would propose the board consider a three-year pilot of the program. If the board decides to approve the four-day week next year the District would have a calendar ready for adoption in the April meeting.
