SEDCO discusses incentives, purchases in special meeting

The Slaton Economic Development met in a special meeting Friday (March 24) to discuss several economic development negotiations.

The board went into executive session at 3 p.m. and discussed the items for 45 minutes.

When it reconvened, the board approved motion for a $25,000 building construction incentive to Lorentz US Corp. It also approved an $8,000 building construction incentive to Heirloom Flowers and Goods.

Both items will are now in a 60 day comment period.

Board members also approved a motion to put into the purchase contract with Dragon Rentals LLC, that they can stay in the property located at 118 W. Garza St. until May 31 with no rent. It also approved a motion to put into the Dragon Rentals LLC contract can they also stay in the property at 125 N. 8th St. for 24 months after closing at a rent of $300 per month.
