3 schools send runners to State track meet

Slaton, Roosevelt and Southland High Schools will be seeing the track at Austin, as all three schools qualified runners to the State track meet in Austin.

Slaton qualified in three events; Roosevelt in two; and Southland in one. Wilson also finished strong in Regional contest.

For the Tigers, qualifying to State were:

• 200 meter dash – Ethan Anzley, second place.

• 4×100 meter relay – the team of CJ Anzley, Zamion Davila, Tomas Geronimo, Izack Nichols, and E. Anzley, second place

• 4×200 meter relay – the team of CJ Anzley, Z. Davila, Brayden Brown, Isaias Gallegos and E. Anzley; first place

Also placing was E. Anzley in long jump, third place. Top two placements qualify for State.
