Slaton Class of 1963 to host 60th reunion

The Slaton High School class of 1960 will be celebrating its 60th school reunion with a get together July 15 from 1-5  p.m. at the Slaton Harvey house, 400 Railroad Ave..

The class will visit with one and all who are interested in visiting with them.

The Class’ last get together was in July 2013 at the Harvey House.

Flag a Yard fundraiser to benefit Slaton Police officers

Families in Blue is hosting a Flag a Yard Fundraiser from now until July 30.

Those wanting to participate can send a yard full of flags to a friends’ front yard.

The recipient will then have the opportunity to choose the next house or do nothing and keep the flags for a few days.

Donations are 10 flags for $20, a total of 20 flags for $30 or 30 flags for $40.

Those wishing to not have their yards decorated can get “flag insurance” and donate $20, which will ensure they cannot be selected for flags in the yards.

The proceeds will benefit Families in Blue, and will be used to purchase additional equipment for Slaton Police Department officers.
