The Slatonite changes email for Classifieds
The Slatonite has changed its email address for legals and classifieds.
The new address is classifieds@slatonitenews.com.
This address can be used to send any classified ad (Garage sale, house for rent, etc.) as well as legals from law firms.
Any item that was sent to the original address will forward to the new one.
This address is the only one that has changed for the paper.
Those wishing to send news items may still send it to General Manager Melissa McCaghren at melissa@slatonitenews.com or to the general news folder at news@slatonitenews.com.

Groups to host Back to School bash events Saturday
The Slaton Independent School District will conduct a back to school bash July 29 from 6-8 p.m. at the Slaton City Park.
The event is hosted by the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) team.
There will be live music, free haircuts for students, a free hamburger meal, games, water polo for the kids, a bouncy house, door prizes and more.
They will also be collecting gently used clothes as part of a clothing drive.
The event is free to the Slaton community.
South Plains Veterinary Clinic will also conduct its annual Back to School Bash Rabies Clinic July 29 on the Town Square.
The event will start at 2 p.m. and will have rabies shots offered until 3 p.m.
There are 100 free rabies shots available.
There will also be a school supply giveaway, vendors, food trucks and kids entertainment.

Wilson to finish firework show Sunday
St. Paul Lutheran Church of Wilson will conclude its firework show that was postponed July 2 this Sunday (July 30) at Green Park in Wilson.
Heavy winds forced the show to be stopped midway through the display for safety reasons.
The church said there were approximately 45 minutes of fireworks remaining
The event is free and the public is invited to attend.
