Schools to conduct student registration

Slaton, Roosevelt, Wilson and Southland Independent School Districts will be conducting new student registration in the next couple of weeks.
Slaton ISD will have registration for new students from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Aug. 2 at all campuses: Stephen F. Austin Primary, Cathelene Thomas Elementary, Slaton Junior High and Slaton High School.
Online registration for returning students to Slaton ISD will be open Aug. 3.
RISD will have its registration Aug. 1-2 at Roosevelt Gymnasium. This will be for both new and returning students.
Parents of returning students are asked to bring their username and password for the parent portal, parent/guardian photo ID, proof of current address (current water, gas or electric bill, or a current lease), and seventh graders are needing updated immunization records.
Parents will be able to complete the online portion at home starting July 26.
Parents of new students will need to bring a parent/guardian photo ID, official birth certificate, Social Security Card, student’s updated vaccination record, and proof of address.
Those who do not have a RISD parent portal account will be able to create one by visiting https://ascportal3.esc17.net/ParentPortal/login?distid=152908.
Southland ISD will have High School registration Aug. 1 and 3 from 1-4 p.m. at the High School gymnasium. Parents can register students one of the two days.
Southland ISD is also open for transfer students for grades K-12. They can be accepted Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at 190 Eighth St. in Southland. Those transferring to the District are asked to bring their child’s attendance records, any documentation regarding discipline and paperwork if the child receives any special services (SPED, dyslexia, ESL, etc.).
Wilson ISD’s registration dates were unavailable as of press time Tuesday (July 18). For information, call the school at 806-628-6261.
Slaton ISD will start their school year Aug. 15 under a four-day school year format.
The Junior High and High School’s first bell is at 7:30 a.m., and classes will end at 4:27 p.m.
SFA’s and CTE’s doors will open at 7:15 a.m., with the tardy bell at 7:55 a.m., attendance bell at 10 a.m. and a 4 p.m. dismissal bell.
Roosevelt’s first day of school is Aug. 16.
Southland’s first day of school is Aug. 16.
Wilson’s first day of school is Aug. 21.
